With inspirations ranging from Andrés Segovia to Mississippi John Hurt, Ed has created his own “guitar voice”, recognized and appreciated all over the world.
The depth of his compositions can thrill a listener with a single note.
Scott Alarik of the Boston Globe explains this much better when he says: “Gerhard doesn’t write instrumental pieces. He writes songs that only a guitar can sing”.
What distinguishes Ed’s music is his inventiveness is the use of open tunings, which allow him a variety of colors between one composition and another. His virtuosity on the instrument, be it 6 or 12 strings, or Hawaiian Lap Steel, is always at the service of beauty.
He is featured in all the most important acoustic guitar record collections, video publications and musical scores. “Breedlove Guitars” recently created a guitar model by Ed Gerhard, highly sought after, and winner of the “Player’s Choice Award” by the “Acoustic Guitar” magazine.

In the ophiollite mountains of the Val d’Aveto
The point of view of animals meets that of a child who, despite coming from the nearby metropolitan area, has the possibility, thanks to the existence of these places, to live the experience of an immersion in the intact and untamed nature.
The film represents an ideal journey to discover environments with a deeper understanding of nature, through the seasons and the unfolding of natural events.
We made this film to provide a stimulus towards the importance of conserving nature in its original wildness, so that it is possible to hand over to future generations the ecological integrity of these precious mountains where eagles and wolves live just behind Genoa.
