The group \u201cSCARIOLANTI<\/strong>\u201d was born with the intention of offering in the 2000s a show of high musical value, which combines in one powerful universal voice the popular songs of civil commitment of the Old and New Continent with the music that accompanies the migrations of men and women in search of social redemption.<\/p>\n

The proposed repertoire, taking its cue from the tradition of the ballads that accompanied migrations, struggles and social conquests in the 1900s, wants to offer to new generations an opportunity to reflect on the path of civil progress that knows no pauses.<\/p>\n

With this common thread we move from the protest songs of the rice paddies and dissidents unfairly sent to confinement, to the desperate cries of Mexican laborers in California, and peasants fleeing during the Great American Depression. They all recall the suffering of migrants, the pain of the exiles, the struggles against oppressive armies, and the rebellions against wars. Stories of men and women from all continents, of defeats and successes for the affirmation of a civil and moral dignity. Stories of the past and present.<\/p>\n

The musical arrangements that accompany these stories are proposed in a very current and original way, and give freshness to the whole show. So I use traditional instruments, such as the accordion, the piva and the accordion, accompanied by modern acoustic guitars, electric bass, ethnic percussion and beautiful vocal harmonies. A great deal of space is dedicated to improvisations, both instrumental and vocal, almost a cry of rebellion like the proposed themes.<\/p>\n

The musicians come from numerous and successful musical experiences: CRISTINA BENEFICO (voice) is an expert Milanese jazz player; LIVIO BERNARDINI (voice and accordion) and EGILDO SIMEONE (voice, vocal effects, flutes, percussion) are two well-known exponents of the vast Italian popular repertoire \u2013 that they both have been performing successfully for many years; ALESSIO AMBROSI (voice, acoustic guitars, lap-steel, charango, ukulele) is an interpreter and profound connoisseur of American popular music; MAURO MANICARDI (voice, diatonic accordion, piva) is a researcher and interpreter of traditional and peasant Italian music; ANACLETO ORLANDI (electric bass) has many experiences in blues, rhythm\u2019n\u2019blues and contemporary music.<\/p>\n

A rich mix of different extractions, but capable of merging into a common project of great depth.<\/p>\n\n
